Overview
Three main players make up the Tennessee Career Center team that supports workforce and economic development in the local area; Nashville Career Advancement Center, its workforce board and the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development. The Middle Tennessee Workforce Investment Board (MTWIB) oversees the Career Center system as part of its strategic plan.
Nashville Career Advancement Center
Led by Executive Director Paul Haynes, Nashville Career Advancement Center (NCAC) serves individuals with career coaching and talent development in order to provide a skilled workforce for businesses. Its governing Workforce Board promotes workforce and economic development and youth education throughout our region. NCAC is a proud partner in 6 Tennessee Career Centers located in Davidson, Rutherford, Wilson and Trousdale counties, also known as Local Workforce Area 9. For more information, call (615) 862-8890.
Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development
The
Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development
operates Career Centers across the state. The Tennessee Career Center System was
designed with valuable input from businesses and private industry statewide. The
result is a system able to provide maximum workforce results from one convenient
location.
Tennessee Career Centers are where people and jobs connect. Tennessee has a
network of centers across the state where employers can go to find the workers
they need and job seekers can get assistance and career information. Each center
offers computerized labor market information, internet access, workshops, and an
online talent bank, in addition to job placement, recruitment, and training
referrals.
