A major wireless carrier, Asurion assists the industry in moving forward to a profitable and customer-focused future with programs designed for the carrier and customer in mind.

Asurion works diligently with the Career Center and the local Jim Casey program by offering a streamlined employment opportunity for youth that have aged out of the foster care system. These employment opportunities are not simply jobs, but include a streamlined hiring process, a workplace mentor, and introductions to corporate leaders for an extremely disadvantaged population.

Asurion's staff and Jim Casey developed a mentoring program for incoming youth, offering special training with background information on the foster care system and the youth in foster care experiences. Asurion labeled the youth hired through the mentoring program process as "interns." This label reduced the stigma identity as former foster youth. As one "intern" says, he did not want people thinking he didn't work just as hard as everyone else. Asurion has gained several valuable employees through this mentoring program.

Asurion demonstrates its corporate initiatives by contributing to the community, and providing a commitment to employment opportunities for job seekers. Asurion's corporate commitment to youth provides and enhances opportunities for career development.
