(Job Search Tips – Networking Exercises, Networking
Strategies for Non-Networkers)
Making connections and building
relationships
Building a network requires time and a
commitment to helping others. Contacts may be
immediate, but a relationship can be established and
built only over time. The potential to build begins
with the first introduction and requires the investment
of time and energy for follow-up.
Non-Desirable Backgrounds
Salary Negotiation/Money Talk
Attend this workshop to learn some useful
salary negotiation techniques. You CAN earn the
salary you want.
Perfecting Your Digital Resume
Many employers require applicants to
submit digital resumes via cyberspace (meaning email or
web based submittals).
The material presented provides helpful
information to jobseekers in understanding the major
differences between the Traditional Resume versus the
Digital Resume formats.
Additionally, the information is for
jobseekers to understand why their electronic resume may
not be receiving the attention of cyberspace.
Polishing Your Professional Image/Dress
for Success
How you look supports your professional
“credibility”. In some industries customer contact and
image presented to the customer is critical. Dress up
for the interview even if most of the employees dress
casually on a day to day basis. Don’t confuse your
professional dress with “party” or “date” attire.
