Purpose
The Middle Tennessee Workforce Investment Board (MTWIB)
was established by federal law to provide leadership,
direction, vision and oversight of a Local Workforce
System. Utilizing public resources, its purpose is to
assist in addressing the employment needs of employers
and the career development needs of workers. The MTWIB
was created as a local leadership group to oversee
workforce issues in Workforce Investment Area-9.
Members
The MTWIB is comprised of
40 - 43 volunteer members with a majority representing
private sector employers.
The remaining members represent:
Organized Labor
Economic and Community Development
Education
Community Based Organizations
Agencies operating within the One-Stop System
As a board member, assisting in the development of a
vision, identifying key issues and overseeing action
plans are all critical components that contribute to the
success of our workforce system.
